The FDA does not require food manufacturers to list cross-contamination or shared equipment warnings on ingredients labels. Please sign this petition requesting they require it in order to protect the 15 million Americans who suffer with food allergies.
My friend Jenna’s 3 year old son has been sick for weeks because packaged foods he ate, which did not list eggs or peanuts on the label, actually contained tiny amounts of those ingredients. His food was contaminated when it was made on equipment that also manufactured items containing those allergens.
A food allergy reaction sends someone to the emergency room every 3 minutes. Ingredient labels need to list all food allergens or some of those people will die. PLEASE, sign Jenna’s petition at the link below, and then share this post. You can help protect kids like Jenna’s son, and the 15 million other Americans who suffer from food allergies.
