Food Intolerance Symptoms
A food reaction can affect many parts of the body-it isn’t always just a swollen tongue and rash around the lips. Look at how many symptoms a food intolerance can cause. Is it any wonder that people with food sensitivities often go undiagnosed for years as they search for a cure to their symptoms?

Marked plate idea
This blogger mentions how P.F. Chang’s uses special marked plates in their restaurant to remind the chef, and reassure the customer, that the dish must be safe for a food allergy sufferer. Great idea! Any thoughts as to how this could work in your kitchen at home?
Egg-Free Ranch Dressing Recipe
Ranch Dressing from The Egg-Free Cookbook
Bottled ranch dressing almost always contains eggs. This easy recipe makes this favorite classic dressing in almost no time at all.
1/2 c sour cream
3 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp dried dill (optional)
- Whisk to combine.
- Store in the refrigerator.
Makes 2-4 servings. It is easy to cut the recipe in half if less is needed. (1/2 of a tablespoon is 1 1/2 teaspoons.)
Homemade dressings will not keep as long in the refrigerator as commercially prepared versions because they do not contain preservatives. Prepare only what you plan to use immediately or within a few days.

Another Cute Children’s Book!
Here is another cute children’s book about food allergies.
About OK 4 ME 2 EAT: My food allergies
Sam, a child with multiple food allergies, helps to explain everyday concepts of dealing with his food restrictions. He tells us how both he and his brother have been lucky enough to have outgrown their milk allergy. Sam, still having an allergy to other foods, shows us how he only eats foods that his parents say are safe and most of all how he can still enjoy the fun of being a kid. Sam gives examples of the 8 most common allergens and tells us some of the foods in which those allergens might be hidden.
An End to Food Allergies?
Can You Guess Which Two?
Can you guess which two of the egg substitutions shown in this graphic are used in The Egg-Free Cookbook? (More than two substitutions are used in the book, but only two of them are shown in the picture.) Remember, only common ingredients are used in the recipes!
